Free Supply Store

Shop free, with dignity.

No price tags. No catch. A real store experience where veterans and their families take exactly what they need.

How it works

A store, not a handout.

We set the store up the way any shop would be — clean racks, organized shelves, real choices. Because dignity matters as much as the supplies themselves.

Veterans and immediate family members can shop the store on a monthly basis for the essentials that are hard to come by: clothing, footwear, outerwear, hygiene items, bedding, and seasonal gear. Everything is free.

All we ask is proof of veteran status — a DD‑214, VA card, or military ID — the first time you come in.

How to shop the store.

1

Bring proof of service

A DD‑214, VA card, or military ID confirms eligibility for you and your immediate family.

2

Stop by the VREC

Find us at 5402 43rd Avenue S., Minneapolis, MN 55417. Call ahead at (952) 356-5116 to confirm current store hours.

3

Shop the floor

Take your time. Browse the racks and shelves like you would anywhere else — a volunteer is around if you need a hand.

4

Take what you need

No checkout, no cost. Come back next month when you need to restock.

The store runs on donated goods

Gently used and new clothing, boots, blankets, and hygiene items go straight onto the shelves for veterans in need. Here's how to donate goods.

No one gets left behind

Keep the shelves stocked.

A monetary gift lets us fill the gaps donated goods don't cover — the right sizes, the cold-weather boots, the basics that always run short.
